Compounds like CBD are absorbed into our body in 2 separate ways: a water-soluble pathway and a fat-soluble pathway.
Water-soluble compounds like sugars, minerals and most amino acids can travel directly via our gut lining into the water-based blood. From there, the compounds will be transported around the body.
Because CBD is a fat-soluble compound, it cannot travel directly into the bloodstream. When CBD is combined with a fat-based oil, it directly binds with the fat molecules that your body is familiar with processing, strengthening the CBD absorption. And that is why carrier oils are so important: Without the help of a carrier oil, your body would be unable to meet the demand of fully processing the CBD.
There are many different carrier oils used in CBD products — Coconut, MCT, Hemp, Palm, Olive, Avocado, Sesame, and Grape seed. While many of these oils serve no purpose except to carry the CBD, others offer their own range of health benefits and advantages.
We use Hemp Oil as the carrier oil for our CBD products. Hemp Oil on its own has a great number of benefits to your health, and there’s also something called the Entourage Effect.
